Am I a good candidate?

Good candidates have noticeable bulges of fat in the underchin region. The Kybella fat reduction treatment is specifically designed for those who have unwanted fat that resists diet and exercise. Kybella is a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Kybella, like liposuction or CoolSculpting, will not remove or tighten sagging skin. How long is each session? How many sessions will I need?

We will help you create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. The length of your Kybella treatment session will take about 15 minutes. Many patients experience visible results in 2 to 4 treatment sessions. Up to 6 treatment sessions may be administered spaced no less than one month apart.

Where does the fat go? Are the results lasting?

Once the treated fat cells are destroyed, your body processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good.

Does Kybella really work?

Yes, Kybella works. Really.

The reason Kybella consistently works is because the active ingredient is deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally-occuring molecule in the boy that aids in the breakdown and absorportion of fat. When Kybella is injected into the fat beneath your chin, Kybella causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, these cells cannot store or accumulate fat.

You should be realistic about Kybella results. Kybella actually works, in fact about 10-20% fat reduction on average, but the results obtained from Kybella are more modest compared to those of liposuction or a neck lift. Results may also vary from person to person.

 

How much does Kybella treatment cost?

The price for Kybella treatment varies depending on your areas of concern, the number of sessions needed, and your ultimate goals. We will help you create a customized treatment plan, in person, that’s tailored to your body, your goals, and your budget.

The cost for Kybella starts at $1,500 and up.

What does it feel like?

The Kybella treatment is administered as a series of small injections. The injections may sting or pinch, but the discomfort is generally considered minor.

 

Is Kybella safe?

Kybella is FDA approved for the treatment of submental (under the chin) fullness. Kybella treatment is generally considered safe. However, all treatments have potential risks, and our team will discuss them with you. There is a very small chance that Kybella can cause serious side effects such as trouble swallowing or nerve injury.

Are there any side effects?

Kybella is completely non-surgical, so you can typically return to normal activities immediately.

After your treatment, you should expect temporary swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, and discomfort. You may also experience numbness and areas of hardness around the treatment area. These side effects generally resolve over a few to several days but temporary numbness and mild tenderness can last several weeks.

Can I return to normal activities after my treatment?

Yes. Kybella treatment is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Often times, patients return to work after their Kybella treatment session is over.

When will I see results?

Your results will become visible over the first 2 to 3 months after treatment. After a full series of treatments, most people have a definite, visible reduction of fat in the treated area. The results may continue to improve over the first six months following treatment. The final result will be a more sculpted under-chin!

Do I need to take special supplements or follow a strict diet and exercise program?

No supplements or pills are required and you do not have to adopt new diet and exercise habits. Many patients feel more motivated to take care of themselves after their Kybella treatment. It is as if they get a second lease on their body and want to start anew again by taking even better care of themselves.

What happens if I gain weight down the road?

Many people, after seeing the results from their Kybella treatment, take even better care of themselves. However, if you do gain weight, you may gain it evenly all over your body, not just in the treated areas.
